Searching for last-minute gifts for women who travel? This post has the perfect presents for the female traveller in your life! After all, I am one!
From girls trip gift ideas to travel electronics, read on to pick the ultimate travel gift ideas for her!
We all know a girl who loves to travel. A girl who has her annual leave booked off before the end of January and more than likely has already planned her next trip before her flight home. Nothing excites this girl more than travel, so unless you have a private jet with a big red bow, a holiday home in the Hamptons she can have, then I’ll be honest, a lavender beauty set really isn’t going to wow her!
Perfect Travel Gift Ideas for Her
But, despite the private jet and Hamptons holiday home, a gift for a travel girl doesn’t have to involve jetting her off somewhere exotic or breaking the bank. This post contains a variety of gifts and must-have travel gadgets for the travel girl in your life to suit all budgets!
Travel Gifts & Experiences
Travel girls are normally pretty good with living the minimalist life, whether that’s cutting back on unnecessary toiletries, forgetting fast fashion (Mum, I’m trying if you’re reading this) and generally have everything they need, because they budget to afford their travels.
What travel girls yearn for is experience and if you can buy or create travel gifts at home for when she’s not travelling you’re already onto a winner!
What’s the best thing about coming home from travelling? It’s spending time with you, family, friends and loved ones, of course! Why not buy a travel gift or experience you can do together?
Here are some ideas for travel gifts and experiences:
Who doesn’t enjoy a spa day? It provides all the peace and relaxation of a holiday minus the frantic packing and mad dash to the airport. This year I have enjoyed a relaxing spa break at The Cornwall Hotel and Kettering Park Hotel.
Spa days can do wonders, especially this time of year and I’ve recently written about the benefits of an Autumn-Winter spa break in this post.
Boutique Hotel Stay
Boutique hotels are another favourite of mine and are a great way to enjoy a unique, home-away-from-home stay. Why not book an overnight stay in London to see the lights or shop the sales (I recommend staying at the Luma Hotel London).
This year I have wholeheartedly enjoyed exploring more of the UK, something I’m looking to continue in 2020. I really hadn’t explored the UK at all, as I always jetted off abroad. There’s sure to be places in your own country that the travel girl in your life hasn’t explored or somewhere she loves and would like to revisit?
During my 3 days in Cornwall, I signed up for National Trust membership as not only did it give Adam and I free parking for a number of tourist hotspots, it also gives us free entry to various historical attractions throughout the UK.
Why not gift an annual subscription for the travel lover in your life?
Similarly, English Heritage site membership gives you entry into some incredible sites in the UK. A favourite of mine is Tintagel Castle in Cornwall.
Travel girls know how to bag cheaper flights for their trips. Accommodation might be booked a while after the flights are paid for to help her save and that’s where travel vouchers can be really handy!
Whether she likes booking a boutique hotel or a quirky treehouse, travel accommodation vouchers are ideal.
Whilst travel accommodation gift cards are not readily available online, Booking.com can be picked up in supermarkets such as Tesco – ideal to pick up as a last-minute gift!
A helicopter experience gives your travel girl a different flying experience than what she’s used to and can be the making of a fun day out.
Whether you want to fly over the London landmarks or book a flight with a champagne and cake surprise, which is what I did for Adam’s 30th, there are plenty of options available.
Travel Gifts for Home
I have fond memories of the light-up globe I had growing up and remember being fascinated by the different countries.
Years later that fascination still remains and I really want a white and gold globe for my own home.
Another cute rose gold keepsake is a scratch map to mark off all the places visited. A cute gift for any travel girl.
When she’s not travelling, she’s most likely reading travel stories or planning her next adventures. Travel books can be the perfect gifts to give her something to focus on when she’s not jetting or provide inspiration for her next adventures.
The Lonely Planet Best in Travel books provide inspiration for top destinations to visit for the coming year.
Places I’ve enjoyed visiting this year, such as The Netherlands and the British Coast are both in the top 10 Lonely Planet Best in Travel 2020.
Eco-friendly gifts for her are a great way to buy a meaningful gift that will help save the planet too! Reducing plastic waste and environmental threats on marine life, reusable bottles are also handy travel gifts!
My thermal reusable bottle has been with me on trips to South Beach Miami, was a lifesaver to save money on drinks in the Blue Lagoon and Secret Lagoon. Needless to say, it will be coming with me on my upcoming Europe winter sun break to Fuerteventura.
Metal straws are also a great travel accessory to reduce plastic waste. Great gifts for travel girls who want to do their bit for the environment.
If you’re looking for gifts for friends going travelling, this one is a great choice!
As well as some cool travel books, I also found this cute eco-friendly bamboo map mug at Waterstones intu Milton Keynes.
Ideal for home, this is also one of the best eco gifts for her upcoming travels.
Adam always moans about the amount of hats I buy for holidays. Wearing a sun hat is an important travel accessory for me, though they always end up crumpled in my case!
That’s where a foldable travel hat comes in! I found mine for a bargain price in Primark.
Whilst mine is a Miffy bag (I do love The Netherlands after all!), there are plenty of travel foldaway bags, which are ideal stocking filler gifts for her.
These beautiful rose gold headphones are as good as they sound! Ideal for long flights, these bad boys also come with up to 22 hours of battery life.
A two-in-one power bank and portable Bluetooth speaker, two great accessories for the luggage space of one!
This cute instant camera is a great buy for girls who like to snap their adventures on the go. The built-in selfie mirror is a great addition to the latest model.
Bring her Instagram pictures from her travels to life with the HP Sprocket Printer. This pocket-size portable printer is a great choice for a girl who loves to photograph her travel adventures and I want one!
My Berghaus hiking boots from Go Outdoors haven’t let me down.
One thing I keep meaning to buy for myself is a waterproof paper-white kindle. I’m old school in the sense that I normally prefer reading books but space is running out at home, therefore a kindle is a great option!
Whilst battery life on mobile phones has greatly improved in recent years, a power bank always comes in handy! This one also transforms into a travel plug, which is often an accessory that missed on the packing list!
You may already have free mobile roaming on your phone in multiple countries, but a travel hotspot can still be really handy! Adam and I found the Wi-fi hotspot with our Iceland car rental ideal when we were driving in Iceland for when our phone signal failed.
Give your travel girl Wi-fi anywhere on up to 10 devices! No worries excuses for her not to keep in contact during her travels!
I wish I’d had a Fitbit for when I visited San Francisco as my phone had clicked over 35,000 steps in one day!
Fitbit watches record steps, heart rate and fitness levels, as well, let your travel girl know her sleep patterns after suffering jet lag!
If you are looking for luxury travel gifts for her, the Apple Watch is the perfect pick!
The syncrisity of Apple products is ideal for doing things on the go quickly. I often take for granted how quickly I can transfer photos from my iPhone to Airbook in a matter of seconds.
If she loves Apple products why not buy her an Apple Watch? She can use the fitness features of this watch, whilst also being able to check her notifications.
Beauty Travel Gift Sets
Hotel hair-dryers usually have the blowdry abilities of a hamster with asthma! This Alfa Italia hairdryer-straightener set is the perfect travel gift and fits easily into travel luggage.
I hardly ever buy beauty sets, but I do love Soap & Glory products.
Make Yourself Youthful, Righteous Butter and Hand Food are favourites of mine. This Soap & Glory Clean Getaway Set would be right up my street!
How cute is this Benefit Let’s Take a Mini Trip Set?! I love this travel-themed beauty set and Benefit minis.
The jewel of the crown has to be this Liz Earle Try Me Skincare Set. These travel size Liz Earle products include some of my favourite Liz Earle products. I love Liz Earle!
Travel & Luggage Gifts for Ladies
The Travel Hack Backpack is the latest addition to the Cabin Max Travel Hack collection and is perfect for those worried about luggage restrictions. The backpack fits under your seat on the plane. I purchased one the day they went online, but was also lucky enough to win one in a giveaway! Yay!
These packing cubes are ideal to compress your holiday clothes! I’ve just purchased mine with the Travel Hack Backpack ahead of my upcoming trips!
The Travel Hack Pro Cabin Case designed by Travel Blogging Extraordinaire Monica Stott. The Travel Hack Cabin Case has a zip-top to store your handbag and a secure laptop compartment, ideal for restricted low carrier flights when only one hand-luggage item is allowed. A lifesaver if you’re anything like me and try and hide your extra bags under your coat before a flight!
Gifts for Women Who Travel
So there you have it, the best travel gift ideas for her! I wouldn’t mind some of these travel gifts myself if any loved ones happen to be reading!
