Hoxton Hotel Paris Review
The Hoxton Hotel Paris is the latest addition to the Hoxton brand of hotels and new to the Parisian hotel scene; where visitors travel the world to sip coffees in the famous cafes in Paris, as well as, stay in some of Paris’ best-loved hotels.
How does the new addition to the brand define itself in the popular Paris hotel scene? Well, find out all in my post.
Saving you the age-old dilemma of finding somewhere to stay in Paris, if you want to know exactly where to stay in Paris, then this is the post for you…
Small Charming Boutique hotels in Paris
I’m a sucker for a boutique hotel and there are so many boutique hotels in Paris! I love all the intricate details and unique features that give hotels their individual feel; adding a bit of luxury to a stay. For this reason alone, I tend to avoid large corporate hotel chains with dated bland decor and worn in furniture.
The Hoxton Paris is part of a small chain of hotels and is the latest addition to the brand. Though, it’s clear to see from the very outset that the brand has its own unique individual style that sets it apart from other hotel chains. The inspiration for the hotels derives from the very neighbourhoods in which the hotels are located, which are opened purely for the love of these areas. The Hoxton group prides themselves on opening hotels that are as popular with the locals as they are with tourists.
This concept is something that was evident on arrival at The Hoxton Paris, with French diners enjoying a coffee, bite to eat and even working on their laptops in the various seating areas of the hotel.
And it’s no wonder considering the bright, relaxing, yet social atmosphere created both within the internal seating areas and the winter garden, which even has blankets supplied on the chairs for cold evenings.
If it’s too cold to brave the winter garden, in the evenings Jacques Bar provides the perfect excuse for a nightcap. The intimate speakeasy bar also has a great cocktail list if you’re looking to get the party started.
The 18th-century hotel building, located in the 2nd Arrondissement of Paris, was formerly occupied by one of Louis XIV’s advisors, then became a clothing factory before it was acquired by the Hoxton group.
The building is striking externally with regal stone features, small Parisian windows and inside a welcoming lobby awaits with a charming spiral staircase.
The venue doused in France’s rich history combines both vintage and modern influences, whilst maintaining a trendy yet nostalgic vibe.
Travelling to The Hoxton Paris
We travelled from Charles De Gaulle airport by RER B Roissypole Gare train to Gare Du Nord, where we took Metro M4 pink line to Strasbourg St Denis, the nearest tube stop to The Hoxton Hotel.
Located just outside of the main attractions, The Hoxton Paris is one of the best places to stay in Paris, close to everything you would want to see for a first-time visit. Whilst the metro was nearby, we walked to the Eiffel Tower one of the days and I would recommend walking the straightforward flat route if it’s not too cold. The walk took around an hour, make sure you’ve got comfortable shoes! En route, there are a variety of restaurants and coffee shops as well as an ample opportunity to get candy floss next to the big wheel!
The bridges are also particularly beautiful! Yes, brave the cold and take a walk!

Eat at Riviè Restaurant Hoxton Paris
Our room wasn’t quite ready to check-in (we’d got to the hotel just before lunchtime) so this gave Adam and I the perfect excuse to check out Riviè, the hotel restaurant.
The relaxed vibe we had observed in the cafe lobby area and terrace continued into Riviè restaurant. Whilst there was ample seating on the restaurant tables, we made like the French and chose to sit on the sofas with low tables to dine.
The restaurant is simply decorated, with a mix of eclectic wall prints and velvet-covered chairs, giving the chic yet luxe feel that is often admired in French interior.
Of course, being in France meant I had to choose the Hox Monsieur, a ham & cheese toastie (as if I needed an excuse!), while Adam opted for the Hoxton Cheese Burger. Part of me really wanted the truffle fries but this can only mean we will have to return!
After an early start and a morning of travelling, the tasty food and relaxing vibe in Riviè was just what we needed to set us up for the day!

Check-In at Hoxton Hotel Paris
We received first-class service on check-in from Matthew, who not only brought our bags to our rooms but also gave us a chocolate bar with a cute little note!
Hoxton Cosy Garden Room
With a name like ‘cosy’, we really weren’t expecting the very spacious room we were allocated.
Upon entering the room, soft French music was playing from the vintage radio as we stood in awe taking in every little detail of our room.
One feature that instantly caught the eyes, had to be the unusual leather-bound headboard complete with straps that could make Christian Grey blush.
The Hoxton had put their all into every last detail of the design and decor of the room, from the rustic features to the vintage and modern influences.
The simplistic styling of the geometric bedding can easily be recreated at home and I was beyond excited when I managed to find the same bedding set for the bargain price of £16! (link below):
Hoxton style geometric bedding
A desk area, full-length mirror and a seating/storage area placed with a mish-mash of assorted coloured cushions, Hoxton branded mugs and crystal glasses were welcome additions to our room.
Crystal glasses – a hotel that provides guests with proper glassware! I’m just gutted that I didn’t realise you could purchase the Hoxton mugs until we returned from our trip – I’m a sucker for momentos!
Beneath the seating area is a mini-fridge containing complimentary water/milk and a safe to stow away any values.
I was particularly taken with the vintage telephone and random selection of books; quirky features which really help personalise the room decor. If only I’d gotten the chance to read “Sand in my Bra…”
We were wowed by our room and even more so when we saw the bathroom! Again, for a “cosy” our room was undeniably spacious.
I mean, look at the size of the bathroom!
The bathroom is an Instagram dream in itself, with the most beautiful bronze taps and shower.
Even the quirky hotel toiletries complement the bathroom!
Cosy by name, cosy by nature?
I cannot begin to tell you how comfortable a night’s sleep Adam and I had in our cosy room at The Hoxton. The bed and pillows are so comfortable your body just melts into them. So comfortable in fact, Adam and I nosed at the Hoxton Hotel bedding brand of pillows and have since purchased some of our own Tielle pillows following our stay at The Hoxton!
The rooms are soundproofed and we didn’t hear a peep during our stay from others staying at the hotel or from outside.
Breakfast in a bag
Breakfast is done a little differently at The Hoxton… Forget venturing down to breakfast at stupid o’clock trying to keep your eyes open and resisting the urge to eat something wholly unhealthy! At the Hoxton, the complimentary breakfast is in the form of a breakfast bag, which awaits collection from your hotel room door. Before hitting the sack, tick the boxes on the bag to confirm the number of people staying and the time you would like breakfast, leave the bag hanging on your door and et voilà as if by magic the breakfast bag will be awaiting your imminent collection.
It’s a concept I’m sure is not embraced by everyone. I remember eyeing Adam with wonder at how he would react to his breakfast bag, being a man who loves eating an English breakfast when we’re away… I needn’t have worried, by the time I’d finished taking photos of the breakfast bag for blog purposes Adam had devoured his yoghurt, granola and banana as he proceeded to open his orange juice!
Yep, one happy customer indeed! We were both sold on the idea of the breakfast bag as it meant we had the perfect excuse to leave the hotel with plenty of time to explore and brunch on the go!
In fact, both of us loved the vibe at The Hoxton Paris and found it the perfect base to explore central Paris.
The Hoxton is not just a hotel, it’s a culture and, one that immerses itself within the very heart of the cities they occupy; providing residents with a place to unwind and work as much as offering tourists a quirky place to stay and relax. A new addition to the Paris hotel scene it may be, but The Hoxton Paris is arguably one of the best hotels in Paris, if not the best place to stay in Paris to experience true Parisian culture.
Book a cosy room at The Hoxton like mine or opt for a shoebox & even a biggy if you’re pushing the boat out. Room prices start from as little as £99. Browse the rooms at The Hoxton by clicking here.

Thanks Marcia. There were some great vibes at the hotel and it’s great to find somewhere you can enjoy spending time in rather than just somewhere to sleep. I bet the terrace will be lovely in the summer too!
The colour scheme running through this place is so gorgeous and oh my gosh that staircase… just look at that staircase!! Also loving the Parisian view from your window, dreamy! Looking forward to your Holborn review 🙂
