We all love enjoying life’s luxuries, whatever our budget.
Unlike other luxury travel blogs, The Life of a Social Butterfly is here to inspire readers to enjoy affordable luxury travel experiences for less, embracing slow and stylish adventures that won’t cost the world (both in monetary & sustainability terms!)
Challenging the concept of luxury travel, you will not find faceless corporate hotels or only dining posts filled with Michelin-Star reviews on this blog. It’s all about the rich experiences that create travel memories to last a lifetime.
For me, luxury travel is all about embracing a slower pace of travel to truly feel and experience a destination authentically; learning about the culture, nature, and heritage of destinations to enable priceless experiences.
It’s about the people, their culture, heritage, local flavours, cuisines, and what makes these destinations appealing in the eyes of the travellers that want to visit.

The Life of a Social Butterfly gives readers affordable luxury travel hacks that won’t break the bank, inspiring stays in boutique accommodation with a focus on sustainability and supporting local businesses.
The Life of a Social Butterfly has a predominantly female audience (80%) in the 25-35 years age category and readers are mostly located in the UK, USA and European countries. They love boutique retreats that inspire home decor ideas, girls getaways, bucket list experiences and living the luxe life for less!
I have a penchant for exploring when the mood takes me… In fact, the mood has taken me quite a bit since I started this blog and, it could be said that I am currently guilty of living a champagne lifestyle on a prosecco budget! Hence the reason for an affordable luxury focus on my blog!
The Life of a Social Butterfly began following many years of reviewing my adventures on TripAdvisor, which made me realise how much I enjoy writing and inspiring others with my travels. The travel blog started as a means of motivation for me to see more of the world and experience life. It encompasses my passions for writing, photography, socialising, eating and exploring – what’s not to love! 🙂
In my 5 years as an Affordable Luxury Travel Blogger, it has been wonderful to see my readership grow with posts being read all over the world. Travelling to different places inspires me in so many ways, has helped broaden my mind and attitude, as well as see things I could only have dreamed of seeing.
My name is Jasmine (or Jaz) and I am a 30-something girl living in Milton Keynes.
Me in a nutshell (how did I get in this nutshell…):
When I’m not sharing my travel adventures on The Life of a Social Butterfly, you will likely find me curled up on the sofa bingeing a tv series or movie with my fiancé Adam (who I have dated for 19 years!) I am a Film Graduate after all…Surpringly, I’m more likely to be watching gangster films, Star Wars & LOTR than I am chick flicks (unless it’s Pretty Woman & Dirty Dancing of course!)
Together, Adam and I are proud parents to our bunnies Buzz & Woody. The bunnies are our world and spend every evening with us on the sofa 🙂
On sunny days, me & the bunnies are likely to be getting our tan on – Summer 2020 was the best for the bunnies and they thoroughly enjoyed spending endless days in the garden when we couldn’t travel. Don’t just take my word for it, check out my Instagram highlights!
Over the last few years, I have spent more time in nature than ever before, which has changed my travel style. I love walking, seeing wildlife and being near the water – the waterfalls in Iceland are incredible! It’s made me appreciate the trees and green open spaces in the UK even more and, paddle-boarding in Cornwall is always our travel go-to! Elephants are my favourite animals and I hope to be able to see them in their natural habitat someday soon.
I love to dance and on a night out my friends always know exactly where I’ll be – you guessed it, on the dancefloor!
I have a wide-ranging taste in music and I have thoroughly enjoyed gigs ranging from Guns n Roses, The Backstreet Boys, Snoop Dogg, Oasis, The Prodigy, Billy Idol and Tiësto. Some days you will find me singing along to Nirvana and other days grooving along to UK Garage or DnB.
I love reading about astrology, the moon cycles and I have always had a keen fascination with Tudor history.
