Nonna’s Woburn Sands Review – Mouthwatering MEGA Roast Menu

(Last Updated On: 01/12/2019)

Check out my Nonna’s Woburn Sands Review of the mouthwatering MEGA Roast Menu!

Located a short drive from Central Milton Keynes, Nonna’s Woburn Sands is an authentic Mediterranean-Italian restaurant in Milton Keynes with a difference. A new Sunday Bottomless Brunch Menu and Nonna’s Mega Roast are the latest additions to the culinary creative Nonna’s menu and I was first in line to try one!

Nonna’s Woburn Sands Review – MEGA Roast Menu!

A roast dinner is my number one favourite meal and a roast would 100% be my death row last meal, closely followed by Greek food! I love a roast dinner so much that I have one EVERY Sunday, but I rarely go out for one in case I’m left disappointed. I’m sure you’ll agree, nothing tastes better than Mamas!

That is, until you try the new Nonna’s Mega Roast sharer dish! This Nonna’s Sunday special is worth leaving the house for and it is as described… MEGA.

Nonnas Mega Roast Sunday Special

To enjoy the Mega Roast you need to book a table at Nonna’s in advance and place your order on the booking.

Priced at £19.95pp, the Mega Roast Sharer includes slow-cooked venison saddle wrapped in smoked pancetta, 28-day dry-aged ribeye, roasted corn-fed chicken supremes wrapped in Parma ham, served with Yorkshire puddings, roast potatoes, brown buttered Brussel sprouts and chantenay carrots, with red wine and topped off with mushroom gravy. Whilst not on the menu, our sharer board also came with succulent lamb cutlets and crispy kale (which I love!)

We all sat mesmerised, open-mouthed and no doubt with hearts in our eyes as the Nonna’s team brought our Mega Roast sharer to the table. It really is as good as it looks, if not more so than the pictures you may have seen on social media to promote the new roast special.

After numerous photos and videos, our only dilemma was figuring out just where to start!

In fact, as my friend Nikki and I were taking photos, Adam and Chris were already tucking into the yummy roast potatoes, which are cooked crispy on the outside with a fluffy middle.

In addition to our Mega Roast, we ordered sides: cauliflower cheese, twistees mac n cheese and Nonna’s signature Tuscan chips.

The real highlight for me is the juicy ribeye, which is cooked to absolute perfection. The meaty ribeye is full of flavour, but not too bloody for those who prefer their meat well-done (like Adam!) I often find venison too overpowering and rich, but it tastes amazing wrapped in smoked pancetta, which complimented the venison perfectly.

The huge Yorkshires went down a treat with the crispy roast potatoes, which the Nonna’s team kindly topped up for us with extra gravy. A couple of additional lamb cutlets were welcomed and we all particularly enjoyed our choice of the twistees mac n cheese side; I mean, who doesn’t love mac n cheese…

The buttered garlic on the sprouts was a little too much for my taste, but still went down a treat for the rest of the table.

To accompany our meals, we shared a couple of bottles of Nonna’s house red (which was kindly gifted by Nonnas in exchange for social media coverage.) The Primitivo Salento house red was full-bodied and a great accompaniment to our meat roast.

It was touch and go for a while as we were all so full! But in end, we did manage to eat desserts!

Is the Nonnas Mega Roast worth it?

Whilst slightly more expensive than your average gastropub roast prices (£10-15), the Nonnas Mega Roast is 100% worth the price for a Sunday roast at £19.95pp. As you can see from the photos, the food is not lacking and items such as roast potatoes, gravy, vegetables are topped up by the Nonna’s team upon request.

A great place for dining for a special occasion, Nonnas, Woburn Sands Mega Roast is also a great excuse to leave the cooking for another day and treat yourself to a roast.

Nonnas Menu Sunday Dining

The Mega Roast is not the only new addition to the Nonna’s Menu. Nonnas Bottomless Brunch Menu is also available on a Sunday, and not just for early risers! Hurrah! I love visiting destinations with all-day brunch menus and I’ve been waiting for so long for more all-day brunches in Milton Keynes to finally be available. Who wants to get up early on a Sunday anyway?

Nonnas Pizza Breakfast Woburn Sands Milton Keynes

A few weeks ago, I enjoyed a Nonna’s brunch with my friend Jo, who enjoyed the Nonna’s pizza of the breakfast variety. I ordered the very yummy green eggs and ham.

For £20pp for two hours, diners can enjoy unlimited Prosecco, wine and moretti. The Nonna’s bottomless brunch menu includes a whole host of brunch favourites with a Mediterranean twist. The Norma Truffle Tacos on the Sunday brunch menu is catching my eye in particular for a future visit!

Is Nonna’s the best place to eat in Milton Keynes?

Nonnas is an award-winning restaurant that has proved itself as one of the best restaurants in Milton Keynes. The restaurant decor is Instagram-worthy to appeal to younger diners, the brasserie stocks goods to support local independent brands and the vibe is one that is family-friendly.

The only problem is that Nonnas has become such a popular restaurant in the local community that parking at Nonnas Woburn Sands can sometimes be troublesome!

My advice, get in there quick! This new Nonnas Mega Roast and Sunday bottomless brunch won’t stay a secret for long! *Amendment – Since posting, Nonna’s are now booked up on Sunday’s until February. Though, Christmas hours have been extended!
