Visiting an Autumn or should I say Fall pumpkin patch is a US Halloween tradition that has grown in popularity in the U.K. over the last few years. I love seeing pictures of orange pumpkins filling my Instagram feed every year, and I really wanted to find a pumpkin patch near me in Milton Keynes.
Unfortunately, when I’ve gone to book The Pumpkin Patch MK it’s always sold out, but this year I managed to snag a ticket so I took my Mum along with me!

Where to find the Pumpkin Patch Milton Keynes
The Patch MK on Mount Mill Farm in Deanshanger is best known for its Autumn pumpkin patch, hence why it was previously known as The Pumpkin Patch MK. Though, my first encounter of The Patch MK is from visiting their beautiful sunflower field, which you can read more about on the link below:

If you haven’t visited The Patch MK before or are wondering how far the pumpkin patch is from Central Milton Keynes, I’ve shared some details below.
The Patch MK is located on the cusp of Northamptonshire and is around 20 minutes by car from Central Milton Keynes, just past Deanshanger.
To reach The Pumpkin Patch MK from Milton Keynes take the A5 and use the second turning on the left on the Old Stratford Roundabout.
If you are planning a visit to the pumpkin patch from London or elsewhere, take the M1, leave at junction 13 and follow signs for the A5 North (towards Northampton).

There is ample parking at The Pumpkin Patch MK in a car park located next to the entrance, which is handy if the weather turns and you need to dash to the car!

It is possible to get a train to Milton Keynes Central and a taxi (or Uber) to The Patch MK from the station. However, taxi prices are likely to be expensive and I recommend checking costs prior to jumping in a taxi, just in case!
How to get Pumpkin Patch Tickets
As I mentioned at the start of this post, Pumpkin patch tickets sell out fast, therefore you need to be planning your Halloween Pumpkin picking activities ideally in September when the tickets first go on sale.
The Patch MK tickets for the pumpkin patch are always pre-advertised on The Patch MK’s Facebook page, so it’s a good idea to keep an eye on there for the release of any tickets.

Tickets for the Pumpkin Patch MK start at just £1.95 per person + a small booking fee (under 2’s go free) with family tickets priced at £5.95 + 50p booking fee, which admits a family of four.
*Please note, prices may vary and are always subject to change.
The Best Time to Visit The Pumpkin Patch MK
As with most things to visit in the UK, the best time to visit is often dependent on the weather as this will impact the growth of the pumpkins, as well as not wanting to get drenched in the Autumn rain!
From seeing pictures of the pumpkins on social media, The Patch MK pumpkins always seem to be a decent size at the time the pumpkin patch tickets are released. Though, if you’re anything like me and like to cling onto the last of the Summer sun, you may wish to wait until mid-October to visit to ensure you’re more in the Halloween spirit!
Tickets to The Patch Pumpkin Patch are hot property and weekends are the most popular to visit but are also the busiest times to visit the pumpkin fields.
If you want to capture pictures of pumpkins without hordes of people in the background, it may be best to visit on a weekday if you are able to. My favourite time to take photos is at golden hour, so my preference would always be to visit in the late afternoon, but again, if you want to visit at a quieter time, the morning slots are likely to be the quietest time to visit the pumpkin patch.
The Patch MK is open between 9.30 am – 5.00 pm.

One of the things I love most is that you are able to pick your own pumpkins and fill a wheelbarrow up with all your pumpkin picks!

Things to do at Pumpkin Patch Milton Keynes
It’s easy to see why the pumpkin patch tickets sell out so fast when you see all the things to do at The Patch MK, especially for young families. Who knew pumpkin picking in MK could be so fun – It certainly makes a great day out in Milton Keynes for those with young children.
MK Pumpkin Patch Picture Opportunities
The wonderful thing about visiting places such as beautiful flower fields and pumpkin patches are the picture opportunities to capture seasonal photos with loved ones, and The Patch MK is no different.
The vintage tractor, the throne of darkness, to seeing how tall you are in pumpkins are just some of the highlights walking around the pumpkin patch.
My favourites at the pumpkin patch have to be the ‘Pumpkins’ sign and The Patch Pumpkin House where Mum and I had lots of fun larking about!

For little ones, the barrel train ride, haybale maze and climbing frame with slides provide plenty of fun!
The Pumpkin Patch Pantry
Picking pumpkins can be thirsty work! Thankfully, The Patch Pantry has a variety of hot and cold drinks, cakes, crisps, sausage rolls and even popcorn to tuck into!
Obviously, I had to pick a pumpkin-spiced latte, which I must say was much nicer than Mum’s cinnamon latte!
A cosier addition to The Patch Pantry is it is now inside a marquee, making it a great place to warm up after exploring the pumpkin field.

I was really pleased with my orange, white and stripey munchkin pumpkins which are currently on display in my living room! I only wish I’d bought some others to cook mine and Adam’s favourite pumpkin risotto, as well as, a couple of pumpkins and leaves for Buzz & Woody to eat too!
