Review Hotel Paradis Zandvoort aan Zee (on sea)
Hotel Paradis is a small, modern boutique hotel located in the Centre of Zandvoort aan Zee; the nearest beach to Amsterdam (a mere 30 minutes train ride away), which is why the area is often referred to as “Amsterdam Beach”. It goes without saying, Zandvoort aan Zee is a very popular beach resort in The Netherlands due to its close proximity to Amsterdam, and it is a great choice for those looking to combine a beach/city break in The Netherlands.

In keeping with the seaside location, Paradis Hotel has a rustic beachy aesthetic that not only complements the area but also provides guests with a home-away-from-home hotel vibe to make for a cosy stay after days exploring Zandvoort.
Hotel Paradis has a white Scandinavian-style exterior, complete with heated lamps and faux fur blankets and can be found tucked down a sweet little lane 200 metres from Zandvoort Beach. Scandi vibes aside, there are also many bikes (a Dutch favourite) to hire to explore Zandvoort, which is a great option for cycling the Strand and the surrounding natural park areas. Don’t worry if you’re a novice at locking the bike as I am, the receptionist at Paradis was very kind and helped me navigate the locking mechanism on the bike!

Rooms at Hotel Paradis Zandvoort
The Paradis Hotel Zandvoort offers a selection of rooms from single or double occupancy, to family rooms, apartments and suites. There are also a number of rooms with private outdoor balconies and the one from my room had the most glorious sunset view over Zandvoort Beach.

Amenities include air-conditioning, free Wi-Fi, a flat-screen TV, tea and coffee-making facilities, and power showers, complete with beautiful-smelling Marie-Stella Maris toiletries.

For regular readers of The Life of a Social Butterfly, you will know that when it comes to staying in boutique hotels, the main things I look out for other than unique touches, are a decent power shower, a comfy bed and good quality pillows. Hotel Paradis did not disappoint; my body melted into the bed after a day exploring Zandvoort and the pillows were amazing! I just wished we stayed longer!

The rooms at Hotel Paradis have everything you need for your stay, including a desk/seating area and a rustic branded tote bag, which was really handy to throw in some items to head to the nearby beach. I really love the beachy vibes of the rooms and the natural aesthetic, not to mention the really cool lampshade!

The exposed lightbulbs on the bedside tables reminded me of my stay at Hotel Ottilia in Copenhagen and more recently, my stay at Hotel Next in Madeira – it would seem that exposed lightbulbs are quite the hotel decor trend.
During the Winter season, rooms at Hotel Paradis start from as little as around 80 euros, making it not only a great choice for those wanting to enjoy a beach break but also, much cheaper than staying in central Amsterdam. The weather was stunning during our November visit and it has inspired me to take more beach breaks out of season.
As an added extra, by booking directly through Hotel Paradis you can arrange for chocolates and champagne to be in your room upon arrival, which is a lovely touch for those seeking a romantic break to Amsterdam Beach.
Stay at Hotel Paradis Zandvoort Beach Hotel
Whilst not located directly on Zandvoort Beach, Hotel Paradis is conveniently located within 5 minutes walking distance from the beach, so you don’t have to worry about walking far to get to the beach or around town. Zandvoort town boasts a number of shops and restaurants (don’t miss trying the Zandvoort cheese Zilte Zoete at Kaashoek Cheese Corner, it’s to die for!)

The location of Hotel Paradis is perfect to enjoy a leisurely walk along Zandvoort Strand, and explore the many beach bars and restaurants in the area. If like me, you are visiting outside the Spring and Summer seasons, you will be pleased to know that there are beach bars in Zandvoort open all year round.

There are also plenty of fun things to do in Zandvoort on the beach and beyond – from nature areas, historic sites and Zandvoort’s Formula 1 Circuit! Check out my Amsterdam Beach post for all my recommendations for visiting Zandvoort.
For those who want to be close to all the action, but still have a restful and peaceful break, Hotel Paradis Zandvoort is the ideal choice. Hotel Paradis is a great place to base your holiday to enjoy a beach break and with easy connections to Amsterdam, Haarlem and the Dutch tulip fields. With its relaxing atmosphere and modern amenities, Hotel Paradis Zandvoort offers the perfect combination of comfort and convenience for your stay, located only 10 minutes’ walk from Zandvoort Train Station.
After exploring Amsterdam Beach, future trips to Amsterdam will now involve a beach break as well as some time in the city as I truly loved exploring both this area and enjoying a boutique stay at Hotel Paradis.
I hope you enjoyed reading about my stay at Hotel Paradis and it has inspired you to stay and explore Zandvoort – check out my other recommendations for The Netherlands and beyond below!
